Susan Belloni
Getting to paint our beautiful Santa Barbara County beaches, ranches and mountains is what I love best about being an outdoor painter. I usually paint on location or “en plein air” which simply means in the open air.
Preserving our natural environment has always been very important to me. In 2002 some friends and I started Southern California Artists Painting for the Environment (SCAPE) and we’ve helped raise awareness about conservation and nearly $100,000 for local environmental nonprofits.
I graduated with a degree in art from UCSB and studied with wonderful local and nationally known artists. I belong to the Santa Barbara Art Association, the Mesa Artists Studio Tour (with its annual exhibit each November) and SCAPE. I’ve received awards in exhibits sponsored by the Santa Barbara Art Association, SCAPE, the Oak Group and Santa Barbara’s Semana Nautica. My work is in the private collections of actors John Cleese, and Heather & David Rasche.
