Erin Williams Watercolors
Erin Williams has always loved flowers. One of her first memories is of looking into the face of a rich purple and gold pansy, becoming one with its loveliness. Born in Berkeley in 1958 Erin grew up in a bi-coastal family, traveling between California and Albany, New York. She spent much of her childhood visiting art museums throughout the world and drawing and painting. She studied at the Academy of Art in San Francisco and received her M.F.A. from the State University of New York at Albany in 1985 where she received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Art.
Upon graduation Erin moved to the lush, quiet Willamette Valley where she raised
her family in an idyllic farmhouse setting and spent 20 years painting the
beauty of nature around her. She exhibited in dozens of of juried shows and was
represented by several galleries in Oregon and Seattle, becoming well-known in
the Pacific Northwest and locally famous in Eugene.
At the end of 2005 Erin literally followed a dream and moved to Santa Barbara,
site unseen. She feels so incredibly lucky to be there. Living with her
boyfriend in his dreamy ocean front home where she has a studio perched over the
water, she is nourished each day by an abundance of delights in the sun, sea,
sand, flowers, fruits and balmy breezes. The new love she has discovered inside
and out is the source for her watercolors which continue to flourish in an
evermore luminous, rich opulence. Erin's popular watercolors are in many
collections worldwide.
