Ellen Yeomans grew up in Southern California in a camping, geologizing and ocean-loving family; she studied art at UCSB’s College of Creative Studies, and began a life-long career as a woodworker in the mid-70’s.
Yeomans works exclusively outdoors, in oils, on gessoed panels. Her paintings are loosely representative, often notable for their air of serenity. She strives for her paintings to convey the joy she experiences in the making of them.
Her work has been featured in shows at the Channing Peake Gallery, Faulkner Gallery West, the Arts Fund For Santa Barbara, Palm Loft Gallery, Art From Scrap’s One Night Stand, and the Santa Paula Art Museum.
She is represented by Gallery Los Olivos, in Los Olivos, CA and has opened her home to Mesa Studio Tour visitors since 2008.
